Fillers
Most fillers are composed of Hyaluronic Acid (HA). Hyaluronic Acid is a naturally occurring substance found in the human body. It binds to water to help retain moisture. When injected with the proper dosage, your skin will look smoother, more plump and more youthful looking.
What to know
As we age, we slow down or even stop the production of collagen and elastin. Both of these substances contribute to a youthful look. Fillers have been used for decades to restore lost volume, plump areas or add lift. Depending on the product, most fillers will last approximately 6 months to 2 years.
STEPS TO YOUR BEST RESULTS
- Avoid non-doctor-prescribed blood thinning medications/supplements before your treatment These include ibuprofen, aspirin, Vitamin E and fish oil. Alcohol can also thin the blood so try to avoid it a week before your treatment. By doing this, your skin will be less likely to bruise.
- It is normal to feel some lumps and bumps after fillers. Do not massage. Most will fade away within 7-10 days. If not, please schedule a follow up appointment with your provider to reevaluate.
- Be sure to stay hydrated.
