IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) gently and effectively treats skin imperfections such as brown spots (from sun and age), freckles, birthmarks, rosacea and broken capillaries. It also stimulates collagen and elastin production,
How Does It Work?
Light pulses penetrate the skin into the tissues and create heat, targeting the imperfection in a controlled manner. The body naturally removes the treated tissues while collagen and elastin fiber stimulation occurs. This process results in a visible improvement in skin tone, texture and appearance.
What to Expect
Some people with shallow pigmentation see results after 1-2 treatments. Typically 2-6 sessions scheduled approximately 4 weeks apart will achieve optimal results.
Some people may experience some redness which usually disappears in a few hours. Daily activity may be resumed the same day.. We advise you to stay out of the sun for a few days following treatment and to apply sunscreen consistently for optimal results.
This is a non-ablative therapy designed to dramatically improve skin texture, fine lines and wrinkles, tightening the skin while also building collagen and elastin. High precision microbeams deliver light through the skin that penetrate deep into the dermis. Deep, narrow columns are created under the skin. Collagen is stimulated to repair the damaged area, resulting in new, younger, healthier skin.

Patients and doctors commonly compare the sensation felt during laser treatments to a rubber band snapping against the skin. However, what laser resurfacing feels like depends on the laser, the depth and area of treatment, and an individual’s tolerance for pain.
Having darker skin does not necessarily preclude you from laser resurfacing.
A common misconception is that laser resurfacing is only safe for light skin types. While it is true that certain lasers pose a higher risk for cell damage or discoloration in darker skin, there are safe and effective resurfacing options. For lighter-toned African American, Hispanic or Asian skin tones, Erbium lasers can sometimes be a good option, posing less risk for discoloration.
Patients with darker brown or black skin may need to consider other skin resurfacing options, such as radio-frequency treatments or microneedling. Be sure to ask Wendy or A Fresh Face team member which is best for you.
